چکیده
Recently, the use of fibers has become an attractive option to be implemented as reinforcement in Asphalt Concrete (AC) mixtures. Nonetheless, few studies have been carried out evaluate recyclability potential AC mixtures incorporating fibers. In this study, reinforcing effect polyacrylonitrile (PAN) is investigated. Air voids, Marshall stability, indirect tensile strength (ITS), moisture sensitivity, compactability, rutting, stiffness, and fatigue were tests taken into consideration. addition, bituminous manufactured with higher quantities artificial reclaimed asphalt pavement containing PAN (PANRAP) evaluated experimentally. The results indicate that significantly increased resistance permanent deformation mixture. Improvements ITS, sensitivity stiffness keeping same life also observed. a suitable performance was found PANRAP relation control mix remarkable increases noted. present investigation provides technical evidence recycling up 50% without presence rejuvenators.

Use of Recycled and Waste Fibers in Asphalt Concrete
A significant problem associated with asphalt concrete mixtures is the lack of durability resulting from an inadequate asphalt cement content. Additional asphalt cement added to increase durability results in flushing, bleeding and a significant loss In stability. Fibers have been used in stone matrix asphalt and open-graded friction course pavements successfully throughout Europe to allow high...
متن کاملRisk Management of Low Air Void Asphalt Concrete Mixtures
Various forms of asphalt pavement distress, such as rutting, shoving, and bleeding, can be attributed, in many cases, to low air voids in the mixtures during production and placement. The occurrence of low air void contents during plant production may originate as a result of an accidental increase in binder content or mix fines (or both). When low air voids are encountered during production, t...
متن کاملInvestigating the Effects of Nanoclay and Nylon Fibers on the Mechanical Properties of Asphalt Concrete
This paper describes the effects of reinforcement by randomly distributed nylon fibers and addition of nanoclay on some engineering properties of a typical asphalt concrete. The properties of asphalt concrete reinforced by different percentages of 25 mm nylon fibers have been compared with those of the mixtures containing different percentages of nanoclay and those in which both the fibers and ...
متن کاملInvestigating the Properties of Asphalt Concrete Containing Glass Fibers and Nanoclay
The performance of asphaltic pavements during their service life is highly dependent on the mechanical properties of the asphaltic layers. Therefore, in order to extend their service life, scientists and engineers are constantly trying to improve the mechanical properties of the asphaltic mixtures. One common method of improving the performance of asphaltic mixtures is using different types of ...
متن کاملFABRICATION OF CARBON FIBERS FROM COMMERCIAL WET SPIN POLYACRYLONITRILE FIBERS
Carbon fibers are fabricated from different materials such as special polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fibers, cellulose fibers and pitch. But PAN fibers are recognized as the most widely used precursor for the present-day manufacture of carbon fibers. The process of fabrication carbon fibers from special PAN fibers is composed of two steps including oxidative stabilization at low temperature and carbon...
